The Cuillin
The Cuillin are the most challenging mountains in Britain. They are alpine in character, with narrow ridges, nearly all rock and very steep. In fact, other than altitude and permanent snow they have many of the same problems as the Alps, especially in winter.

Climbing or walking in the Cuillin is unlike any other mountain region in Britain as even the easier routes of ascent require the use of hands in many places. For some the use of a rope for security is required on many of the routes.

A day out in the Cuillin is a very rewarding experience whether you are just walking in the corries, climbing a munro or two, scrambling over the many fine ridges or rock climbing on routes up to 1500 feet.

The Cuillin are an ideal training ground for all aspects of mountaineering.

Skye Mountain Guides offers courses in all these activities on a daily basis or on multi day courses up to 5 days.

In a five day course for example you can complete all the Skye Munros and complete many of the corrie scrambles, such as Pinnacle Ridge.
